Bjorn Simons, 18 years old and from Belgium. Started snowboarding when he was 10 years on an indoor slope a couple times a week. On the age of 15, he entered his first international contest. That was the World Rookie Fest in Livigno and riding with all the big guys he always looked up to that time. Bjorn made it into the finals, was so stoked about it, that it pushed him a lot to do something with snowboarding. He realized, it’s not just a hobby or a sport, but it’s a lifestyle. Since that time life changed a lot. didn’ t go to a normal school anymore, but went to the Topsport school and entered the Belgium National Team, they gave him the possibility to travel around the world and to combine studying with snowboarding, and doing a lot of physio training everyday for getting in a good shape,good condition and to prevent injuries as much as possible. Then normal summer activities changed to 5 weeks in New Zealand for also riding and having fun on the board in the summer as well and not only in the winter anymore. This season he did a lot of competitions like the World Champs in La Molina, also TTR’s like ‘the O’neill evolution’, Burton European Open’ , ‘Dew Tour’ in Breckenridge.He introduced himself into the world of shooting. That’s more what he plans to do in the future. For this season, he wants to combine everything and just starting some contest where it feels good on, learn new tricks and make progress as much as he can. Just a no bullshit hardcore snowboarder with a lot of potential and stoked all the way!!
