Highly regarded as being among the pioneers of hardcore punk, Bad Brains originally formed as a jazz fusion ensemble in Washington, D.C. in 1977 before leading the charge in introducing the world to punk rock. Their blazing, complex sound rocked the music scene and had a major influence on ‘80s skate culture as well. Though best known for their fast, intense punk rock, Bad Brains also are an adept reggae band and have even dabbled in funk and heavy metal.
